Kanye West's tour DJ (although that is really an insult to introduce A-Trak that way) and Ed Banger's DJ Mehdi are in Scotland soon as part of their Walkie-Talkie tour. Edinburgh's Cabaret Voltaire and Glasgow's clubbing institution, Sub Club have managed to secure a date on what is being dubbed the DJ Mehdi & A-Trak Spectacular Review. Liverpool's Chibuku Shake Shake and Clockwork in Bristol have also managed to land dates - Bristol getting the added bonus of a Kavinsky appearance and what does Liverpool get? 2ManyDJ's. Heavy! The 'Burgh and Glasville will have to make do with only Mehdi and A-Trak, but that's hardly a shortcoming!
As a warm-up to the European tour, Mehdi and A-Trak are joined by the likes of Kavinsky, Cool Kids and Kid Sister for a North American jaunt, billed as The Fools Gold Tour. Fools Gold is A-Trak's new label in cohorts with NYC DJ Nick Catchdubs. The labels logos and sleeves are designed by Dust La Rock and A-Trak's brother Dave 1 (from Chromeo) will be getting his tuppence worth also behind the scenes.
